WHAT DOES IT COST?

If you have permanent residency status in Australia, then the government will subsidise your childcare fees through Child Care Benefit. The number of subsidised hours is dependent on whether you (and your partner) are working, studying or training (50 hours per week) or if you need some time out or some socialisation for your child (24 hours per week). The amount of the subsidy is dependent on the combined income of your household (you and your partner) and this is assessed by the Family Assistance Office. See below for the website link for this.

Carers are self-employed and set their own fees which include a Scheme levy. Your carer will give you a copy of the fee schedule detailing the fee.

STANDARD HOURS of care are 8 am to  6 pm Monday to Friday and cost between $5 and $8 per hour

NON-STANDARD HOURS of care are 6 pm to 8 am Monday to Friday and cost between $5.65 and $10 per hour

WEEKEND AND PUBLIC HOLIDAY CARE cost between $7 and $10 per hour. Carers may charge a minimum of hours, this may be between 5-9 hours.

Brisbane North Family Day Care parents are eligible for full Child Care Benefit from The Commonwealth Government. This may be applied for through the Family Assistance Office (FAO). The Child Care Benefit may be taken as a reduced fee each week or as a lump sum at the end of the financial year.

Parents who receive Child Care Benefit and meet the work/study test are also eligible to apply for the 50% Tax Rebate through the tax system
